Synopsis

Sometimes, the simplest acts of faith are the most difficult to begin…

Megan

If there’s one decision I don’t regret, it’s joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That’s not to say there haven’t been consequences. With my parents’ firm stance against the Mormons, I’ve lost almost all contact with them.

I’ve done my best to mend our relationship, but sometimes, I wonder if I should leave the past behind me…which might be easier if I didn’t just bump into one of my missionaries.

Elder Taylor isn’t the same guy who taught me the lessons. He’s more handsome and mature, but he’s also reserved and appears panicked every time we meet. Unfortunately for him, I’m determined to understand why.

Kris

Reacquainting with someone I taught on my mission should have been exciting, especially someone as gorgeous as Megan Kalley. Instead, I’m in total avoidance mode…and failing miserably. Every time I see Megan, I’m reminded that I once had a strong testimony of the gospel.

Worse, I’m terrified she’ll discover my inactive status and question her own convictions.

But the more time I spend with her and the closer we become, the less I want to avoid her. So, when Megan books a flight home after her father is hospitalized, I refuse to let her face the possibility of rejection alone. Joining her is the right decision, but while Megan attempts to mend the relationship with her parents, I face the reason my testimony wavered in the first place.

Despite my desire to fix my broken faith, I worry it might be shattered beyond repair.
