Synopsis

Phoebe Turner’s plan to survive the summer in Pearls, Florida:
-Focus on helping her aunt recover from surgery
-Bring LOTS of books
-Avoid Dax Pierson at all costs

When Phoebe returns to Pearls after five years, her plans seem to be working… for approximately three days. After that, she finds herself in countless awkward run-ins with her ex that make her want to curl up in a little introverted ball. Dax showing up to fix her aunt’s deck? She can handle that. Being stuck on an hour-long boat tour with him? Jumping into the water may be the only option. But as the moments turn from awkward to sweet, containing more than a little flirting, she becomes conflicted. Should she let herself fall again for the lifeguard who broke her heart all those years ago?

Dax expected his summer to be like all the others. Sit up in the lifeguard tower, watch over Pearls Beach, and get through the next couple months. When he sees Phoebe for the first time in five years, his summer of normal is out the door. Being around her wouldn’t be a problem… if he didn’t still love her. As they grow closer through heartfelt and sweet excursions, he’s determined to win back Phoebe’s heart, as long as his grief and past memories don’t continue to get in the way.
