Synopsis

Years ago, Jed and Katie were best friends, but differences in faith, friend groups, and priorities pulled them apart. Then one day, tragedy strikes, Katie is in the hospital, and Jed is to blame.

Katie is a strong Christian who leads Bible studies and lives out her faith in her school and community. However, when she finds herself in the hospital with a life-altering injury, she struggles with the Bible’s command to forgive as well as trusting God to take care of her when everything seems impossible.

Jed is a popular athlete who wants nothing to do with God or religion. In fact, he and his buddies actively try to take people like Katie down a peg through their words and actions. But when faced with the reality of what he did that led to an innocent classmate facing severe injuries, Jed realizes he is no longer content staying on the path he had been walking.

This story follows the lives of two high school seniors who navigate relationships, faith, school, family, and injuries with the help of their friends. Will Jed find faith and forgiveness as he reconnects with his childhood friend, or will Katie’s faith be shaken beyond repair as she adapts to her new reality? Only time and a lot of prayer will tell.

This book is about finding, staying steadfast in, and sharing your faith while also navigating what forgiveness looks like.
