Synopsis

When seventeen-year-old Kate Bailey’s comfortable world crumbles beneath the weight of her father’s disgrace, she loses everything she’s ever known: her family’s fortune, her social standing, and the future she once imagined.

With her family’s estate being auctioned away and few options remaining, Kate finds herself married to Abel Best, a quiet, hardworking farmer ten years her senior. He’s nothing like the gentleman she expected to marry, and life on his modest farm is a far cry from the comforts she’s always known.

But Abel is a man of steady faith, gentle patience, and unexpected kindness. Rather than demanding Kate’s affection, he gives her the freedom to find her footing in a life neither of them could have anticipated.

As Kate struggles to reconcile the girl she once was with the woman she’s becoming, she begins to discover that love isn’t always found where we expect it—and that God’s grace can create something beautiful from even the most devastating circumstances.

**A tender Christian historical romance about an unexpected marriage, the courage to begin again, and the extraordinary beauty of grace.**
