Synopsis

The stars are going out. This is just one more sign that the land of Afreya is slowly decaying after a Starkind went missing before the Great Exchange twenty years ago. In present day, Elodie Bennett is a prisoner of her magic, by virtue of being the daughter of the missing Starkind. Her only escape is through healing the overlooked in the village near her step-mother’s house. As her warden, the Shadow Man, takes more and more of her magic, she yearns to be truly free.
The stars are going out, but this isn’t the biggest problem for Oliver Khone, Duke of Moyar. His cousin is dying, and he’s rapidly running out of ways to save her. When he hears of a mysterious healer in a nearby village, Oliver realizes this may be Princess Joanna’s last chance.

Can Oliver discover the secrets of Elodie’s past and protect her future?

And how far will Elodie go to protect the life of the man she’s grown to care for?
