Synopsis

Seventeen-year-old Alisa didn’t want to move from Arizona to Belgium. She didn’t want to take on the burden of raising her two younger brothers because their parents are too focused on their lab experiments to remember things like making dinner.

As she falls into despair, she meets Pip the Ghost—who lives in her attic. Pip introduces Alisa and her siblings to the secret world of ghosts, who live very fulfilling lives of commerce, creativity, and connection right beneath the city, with assistance from the living mediums who can see them. But Alisa’s new life among the ghost society, including her new ghostography business and budding romance with a another medium—a boy with secrets of his own—is threatened when an old evil resurfaces in order to take over the world…and somehow Alisa’s youngest brother is the key to it all.

Author’s note:
This book is appropriate for ages 13+ and is free of swearing, sexual content, and graphic violence. There are heavy themes and moments (WWII, death, regret, etc.), some scary parts, and a lot of big feelings. But, as with all Shannon Marie Writes stories, there is hope, sacrifice, and joy. And a romance with a happy ending.
