Synopsis

The Bering Sea is a harsh environment to work. But those who fish her waters don’t come for warm weather and sunshine – they seek adventure, the thrill of the hunt, and a chance at a big payday. . .

Vincent Lee Krandall comes from a family of fishermen who knows the risks and hardships of such a life. When disaster strikes the ship he is on, the Queen Sophie, it joins the list of boats the ocean has claimed – all hands declared lost.

Thinking her husband dead, Vanessa Krandall seeks to put distance between herself and the ocean. Settling in New Mexico with her widowed mother and infant daughter, she begins the process of healing from her grief and beginning a new life.

Nineteen years after the Queen Sophie’s sinking, Samantha Dawn Cain begins to look for information regarding the birth father she never knew. Her search reveals new information along with new questions even as her boyfriend heads north to brave the conditions of the Bering Sea.
