Synopsis

It’s time for Cynthia’s newest challenge—brokering a deal with werewolves and alchemists. With cooking golems becoming practical, Xavi’s family insists on being involved with their many opinions. Including not wanting sorcerers or werewolves to benefit from an alchemist creation.

With multiple races involved, what better place to discuss the golem than The Red Alder hotel for supernaturals? Except not everyone there seems to have the same agenda as Cynthia. Cordelia decides this an excellent opportunity to arrange dates between Cynthia and her marriage candidates, Xavi’s family refuses to listen to reason about anything, and someone at the meeting seems determined to make things go wrong.

But what are sorcerers if not resourceful? Except her marriage candidates are actually encouraging Cordelia’s plan. Potentially because of all the time Cynthia’s been spending with Jayden telling him her plans for the future, now that he wants to be involved in government. And when Jayden can’t hide his hurt seeing her with the others . . . just how is she supposed to feel?
