Synopsis

He’s waited 500 years for her. Now he only has three days to win her heart.
LYRA: I was born to rule the stars. As the daughter of the Pirate Queen, my destiny was to command my own fleet, chart my own course, and carve my name into the heavens.

But when mutiny strikes, I’m pushed overboard, into the very heart of a nebula cloud.

I should have died.

Instead, I find him, a creature of legend and stardust. One of the fabled Celestari.

VAELION: When I prayed to the Creator, begging for a Resonance—the one whose soul was meant for mine—I never imagined she would be human. Nor that she would hold the means to destroying my people forever.

Lyra is my mate, but to be part of her world, I must make a deal with the Witchking and sacrifice all that I am. Without my Voice, I am powerless. But without her, I am nothing.

Three days. That is all I have. And if I fail, I will lose more than just my freedom—I will lose her, along with the key to saving my world. With enemies closing in and time running out, can I possibly win Lyra’s heart?

Or will I be lost to the Witchking’s void forever?

Dive into the fantastical fairytale world of Stardust and Silence filled with magic, space pirates and a love that knows no bounds. High-stakes fantasy adventure combined with swoony romance await in this clean, faith-filled fated mates romantasy! Perfect for fans of Treasure Planet and lovers of Christian fantasy romance.

Review of Stardust and Silence

First of all, give me anything that is Little Mermaid themed. I gobble it up. Put the characters in a fantasy version of outer space? Take my money!

Second, a huge reason I wanted to read this book is because it has strong, Christian themes that are front and center. Its the kind of book I’ve been craving for so long and struggling to find because the book market is … saturated with strong romantic content (to put it politely). I say this with a lot of love for my fellow romance readers.

I binge-read this book in a single day. I might have started it a week before, but the day that I opened it to “sit and read for a while” went by in a blur. I couldn’t put it down. I know we all tend to think that every book is perfection. And then there are times when we think “the perfect book doesn’t exist.” Well, Stardust & Silence is my version perfection. Portable magic.

I highly recommend it, even if you don’t read Christian stories. And I don’t want to spoil the book for anyone who hasn’t read it yet. So I will just say this: This book resonated with my soul. Not only is it the perfect book to read on Starbright (Christmas!) but it is also the perfect romance.

Gonna be very vulnerable here: there is a quiet prayer one of the characters prays, and is one I’ve prayed so many times. And I am still waiting for that prayer to be answered. So reading about a character who has waited for so very long to have that prayer answered and seeing it actually being answered at the appropriate timing. It filled me with hope.

That’s why I love this book.

Ashley Willingham is truly blessed by God in her writing. Stardust & Silence delivers on the Little Mermaid meets Treasure Planet, and Pirates of the Caribbean. The author market’s this book (and other books in the standalone series) as Clean Fairytales for Adults. As an adult, I understand why she is clear on that detail. She wants to give adult readers that same joy that comes to lovers of YA romance, but with mature characters.
