Synopsis

A weapons master with one weakness. A woman not allowed to marry outside of royal blood. Trials that bring them together.

Thoren spent a century of his ethrean life in the great city of Elpha Zavar. When he hears the announcement looking for a mentor for the next Gift Bearer, Thoren jumps at the opportunity. With masterful skill of any weapon he wields, he knows this job will give him the chance to live a life of purpose beyond the mundane.

Unfortunately, he must beat the other applicants in life-altering trials and face his deepest weakness in order to claim such a rare job. Love was never part of his plans, but his blossoming feelings for the noblewoman in charge of the trials leaves him torn over his desire to pursue such a relationship and the cultural taboo against a union between a common citizen like himself and a royal like her.
