Synopsis

She wanted to be free of the expectations of her station.

He wanted revenge for his friend’s unjust death.

Neither planned on being sent into the deadly trials – together.

When the Prince of Vlîre pairs them for the trials, they have to learn to either work together or die trying.

Unwanted by her mother from birth and rejected by her father, Nyatble has trained harder than any fae of Vlîre to prove she’s worth more than just an arranged marriage to the highest bidder. Seeking to escape the expectations of her family, she’s desperate to participate in the deadly trials that every fae must survive in order to unlock the full ability to use their innate magic and gain their magically bonded creature. What she didn’t count on was being paired with the rival family’s son.

Bekhivi has trained for the upcoming trials but thinks they are wholly unnecessary. When his best friend is killed because of a feud between houses, he can think of nothing else but revenge and justice. He’s ready for the trials, but not for her.

Ambivalence is for fans of high stakes like those of The Hunger Games and forbidden romances like The Serpent and the Wings of Night. It is an intense, closed-door dystopian romantasy full of deadly trials, betrayal, and the bloomings of a slow burn that will leave you craving for more.
