Synopsis

Can Zev and Marieke’s bond survive her dying country and his fractured family?

Marieke is more determined than ever to save her deteriorating country, and she doesn’t intend to let Zev walk away from the mystery without a fight. But with Oleand now plagued by natural disasters, time is running out. And from the capital to Sundering Canyon to the southern jungle, the answers seem always one step further from her reach.

As Marieke edges closer to the secret of heartsong, Zev knows he should pull away. But every minute spent with her makes that more impossible. The last thing he wants to do is betray his family, but each time Marieke risks her life in her quest to save her country, the truth becomes increasingly harder to deny—he can’t live without her.

Zev and Marieke will have to find a way to overcome the barriers that keep one another out. Because it will take the strength of two countries, and the magic of both songcraft and heartsong, to stand a chance against the forces bent on destroying all they love.

A Fractured Song is the second installment of Heartsong, a YA fantasy trilogy set in the Sovereign Realms, where magic is harnessed by singers. It should be read after Book One—A Splintered Land. When a singer with too many questions meets a farmer hiding dangerous answers, past and present collide and heart is pitted against duty. If you enjoy adventure, magic, and clean and swoony romance, enter the world of Heartsong today.
