Synopsis

Killer in the Margins follows Jess, an indie author with ADHD whose life unravels in the span of a single disastrous week—she loses her job, her boyfriend, and her apartment. With nowhere else to go, she moves to a small town to care for her grandfather. But he doesn’t really want a caretaker. What he wants is someone he can trust.

Convinced someone is trying to kill him, he asks Jess to help him re-examine a cold case he believes he solved incorrectly years ago. Before they can uncover the truth, he is murdered—leaving Jess as one of the few people who knows what he was investigating.

Determined to find justice, Jess begins her own investigation with the help of Michael, a kindhearted, cinnamon-roll police officer who has already developed a soft spot for the town’s newest resident. As they dig deeper, they uncover secrets connecting her grandfather’s murder to the cold case he never stopped regretting.

Together, the expose the truth just before the killer strikes again—and along the way, Jess finds she’s falling in love with the cop she didn’t think was her type at the start of the book.
