THE UNCHOSEN SERIES (the Lilac Plague (level 1), The Rose Court (level 2), The Canina Thorn (level 2)) = level 2, but might be considered level 1 THE POISONED PRINCE = level 1, except the characters do feel “warmth” and touch that signals attraction (like characters brush hands and character will feel a warmth up their arm). Parent death (like most Disney movies) The Unchosen is an epic fantasy so there’s a lot of vying for power (betrayal, death, destruction) but it’s still appropriate for even younger teens because it’s not gore-y or perverse.
