Is it free to submit my books?
Yes. Submitting books to the Closed Door Romance Database is completely free. Every approved submission receives a book listing, content guide and a free author page.
Who can submit a book?
Any author or publisher may submit a closed door romance book. If you’re submitting on behalf of an author, such as a personal assistant, please make sure you have permission to do so.
How long does it take for my book to appear?
Every submission is personally reviewed. Once approved, your book is added to the database, so check back periodically to see when it’s live.
What makes a book eligible?
Books should align with the database’s mission: romance novels with a primary male/female relationship, written by authors who publish 100% non-explicit books.
Can I update my book listing later?
Absolutely. If your cover changes, you publish a new edition, release an audiobook or need anything else updated, just fill out the update form.
Do I have to become a Featured Author?
No. Every approved book receives a free listing and author page. Featured Author is an optional upgrade for authors who want extra visibility and promotional features.
Can I cancel my Featured Author membership?
Yes, anytime. Your free author page and book listings stay in the database.
Do I need to submit every book separately?
Yes. Each book has its own content guide and searchable information, so every title is submitted individually.
Can I submit a book that hasn’t been released yet?
Yes. Upcoming releases are welcome, and you can include ARC opportunities when you submit, so readers can discover and anticipate your book before launch.
Why wasn’t my book accepted?
Every submission is reviewed to make sure it fits the database’s mission. Books with explicit sexual content, or that otherwise fall outside the guidelines, can’t be listed.
